Candida Yeast Infection: What is it?
By HelloLife
A yeast infection is a form of a pathogenic fungus. We should all realize that this fungus is everywhere around us. It can be found on any mucus membrane such as your mouth, skin and even in your stomach. You can also get a Candida yeast infection from antibiotics and other factors. The good thing is that the infection does not spread through out your body, the Candida yeast can only grow in the infected areas. When you properly treat your yeast infection it is not dangerous. If you do not treat your yeast infection properly it can lead to many complications. It can affect your eyes, kidneys, heart and lungs. If it enters the brain, this can cause acute changes in behavior, mental function and even seizures. In extreme cases Candida yeast has made its way to the esophagus which causes Candia oesophagitis. In very rare cases when this is not treated properly you may end up with holes in your throat.
People who have an unhealthy immune system because of damage from other diseases can get Candida yeast into their blood stream and internal organs. Having the Candida yeast infection in your blood stream or internal organs can be very difficult to cure and can even cause death. In today's advancements in medicines we are living longer and the older you are the more your immune system can be compromised. The older you are the more serious the Candida yeast problem can become. Antibiotics are being used much more regularly and they can add to this problem. More and more cases of Candida Yeast infection are reported every year. A Candida yeast infection can live normally in your body and you may never have any negative effects from it. Only when your body's chemistry changes do complications occur.
Other forms of a Candida yeast infection are intertrigo (which is found in the folds of your skin), balanitis (which can inflame the head of a man's penis), and vulvovaginal candidiasis (which is yeast that infects the vagina). A yeast infection can be caused by the simplest of things like detergents or scented products for personal use. Products that cause you to have a skin rash by destroying skin miroflora may also cause a yeast infection. Using a low pH product may help prevent this. It is important to treat your Candida Yeast infection as soon as the first symptoms arise. If you're lucky, you can get rid of this nasty infection and it won't come back. Using an all natural treatment to deal with Candida Yeast can be you safest bet since most people can develop Candida Yeast from prescription antibiotics.
