My Profile

  • How can I upload/change my profile picture?

    There is a little pencil that is located in the upper right hand corner of your profile picture. Simply click that symbol and upload the picture you want!

  • It says "Image too big." What is an acceptable photo size?

    Anything over 2MB will be too large. Only .jpg, .png and .gif are acceptable photo types.

  • My big profile picture looks fine, but the small profile photo by my postings cuts off my picture in a funny way. Can it be fixed?

    For those who know how to crop a photo, making the picture square will work. For those who are slightly less informed, you may have to choose a different picture, we apologize for the inconvenience.

  • How can I change my status?

    When on your profile page, simply post to your wall whatever status you wish people to see!

  • How can I post a photo to my wall?

    Refer to "How can I share a photo or link with my friend?" Use the same process, just on your own profile.

  • How can I post a link to my wall?

    Refer to "How can I share a photo or link with my friend?" Use the same process, just on your own profile.

  • How can I delete an update, message, photo or link from my wall?

    There is a small "x" located at the top right of each posting, simply click that and confirm that you want to erase the post!

  • How can I create/change my "About You" information box?

    Scroll over the "About You" section, click on the edit button that appears. You will be taken to a section that shows your profile details. Similar to the picture edit process, click on the pencil in the upper right hand corner of the section you want to edit, make the changes and update!

  • How can I change my privacy settings?

    Simply roll over your profile picture in the upper right hand corner of the page. A pull down menu will appear, choose Settings and you will be brought to your settings page. Choose the settings you want and click update.

  • I'd rather use a "screen name" or "nickname" than my real name. How can I do this?

    In your account settings there are options to tailor your screen name to display the way that you like it.

Goals

  • How do I set a goal for myself?

    When in your profile, click on the "Goals" tab in your blue profile navigation bar, you will be taken to your goals page where you can view all your current and completed goals. Once there, click on the green "Set a New Goal!" button, enter a title for your goal, an amount that is easily to track and then a short description. Once done with that, click the "Create Goal!" button. If you are having a hard time putting into words the goal you have in mind, check out the pre-made goals underneath the "Create Goal!" button!

  • How can I encourage someone else in their goal(s)?

    Go to your friends profile and look to the top of the right column, you will see their goals listed, click on the goal you would like to support. Once there, enter your support in the comment box and click the "Comment!" button.

Friends

  • How do I become friends with someone?

    When you find someone you would like to become friends with, go to their profile page by clicking on their name or picture. Once there, click on the box labeled "You're not friends yet. Add ...?" located under their profile picture. Once you have clicked on the box, your request will be sent out.

  • I have a friend request. What now?

    Quite simply, accept! Click on the link and begin the blossoming!

  • How can I leave my friend a message?

    When you get to your friends page, there is a "wall" in the middle of his/her profile. Click on the box labeled "Post to this wall...," write your message, then post!

  • How can I share a photo or link with my friend?

    Located in the same area as the posting to the wall, the photo and link buttons allow you to upload photos and links to your friends. When you click either one, it will open up an option for you to upload from your own files, choose your files, comment on the photo and hit upload!

  • Where can I see my friend's blogs?

    When you are on your friends profile page, click on his/her blog tab to see what he/she has posted!

  • Where can I see my friend's goals?

    When you are on your friends profile page, click on his/her goals tab to see what he/she has set!

  • How can I unfriend someone?

    In the unfortunate even that you may need to unfriend someone, simply go to his/her profile page and scroll down to the friendship options section on the left, click on the link labeled "Unfriend ...," and confirm you want to remove him/her as a friend in the dialogue box.

  • How can I invite people that are not on the HelloLife network to join?

    On your profile page, under your friends section, there is a link that says "Invite Your Friends" on the top of the page. Click on that and fill out their information, send the request, sit back and wait for the awesomeness of friendship!

Blogging

  • How do I create a new blog?

    To create a new blog, head to your blog center by clicking on the "Blogs" tab in your profile bar, once there you will notice a large blue button that reads "Write New Blog," click on the button and you will be taken to the blog writing template.

    Fill in all the required fields: title, body, excerpt, etc. (There are tips on the left if you need any inspiration!) Tags are not required, but they will help other users find your blog, just like a picture will make your blog more attractive to other users.

    Read over your blog once you are done to make sure that it is just the way you want it. When done filling in all the required fields, click the "Post Your Blog!" button.

  • I posted a blog, but I did not get any SmartPoints for it. Why?

    There are two reasons a blog may not be awarded SmartPoints. 1.) Your blog was less than 200 words in length. 2.) You have already received 500 SmartPoints for blog writing this month.

  • How can I add pictures inside of my blog (not just a main blog picture)?

    Currently, you may only add pictures inside of your blog using an image URL. This means your photo must already be hosted on another website like Flickr. To get the image URL from a photo in your Flickr account:

    "You can get the URL of your own images on Flickr. To do this just click 'Actions' and 'View all sizes.' You can then right-click and select 'Copy Image Location'."

  • How can I create or change my "Meet the Author" Information?

    Your "Meet the Author" information found in your blogs is the same as your "About You" information found on your profile page. If you change one, you change the other. If you would like to change the information, refer to "How can I create/change my 'About You' information box?"

  • What does "subscribing" mean? How can I "subscribe" to a blogger?

    If you read a blog and really enjoy it, you may choose to "subscribe" to the author by clicking the "Subscribe to blogs by ...." button located to the right of the blog picture. By doing so, you will start receiving a notification each time they post a new blog. Newly posted, live blogs will also appear in your Friend Feed.

  • How can I "unsubscribe" from a blogger?

    If for some reason you decide you would like to stop following a blogger, you can go to any one of the author's blogs, look to the same spot that you subscribed to the author in and the box will read "Stop following blogs by ..." click that box and you will no longer receive notifications when they post a blog.

  • I made a mistake. Can I edit my blog?

    Yes, you can! There are two ways that you can get into your blog to edit any mistakes.

    1. Go to your blogs center, each of your blogs has a pencil to the right of the picture, click on that pencil and you will be taken into the blog writing template to make your edits.
    2. When on a specific blog page, the pencil is located to the right of the title, right after the date posted. Click on the pencil and you will be taken into the blog writing template to make your edits.
  • Can I delete my blog?

    Yes, you can. If you are sure you would like to delete and not just edit a blog, go to your Blog Center, find the blog and click the gray "X" to the right of the blog picture.

  • How can I share my blog with people outside the HelloLife Network?

    It's easy to share your blog! Visit the page of the blog you'd like to share. To the right of the main column, you'll see a little pop-out box that has a dialogue box with a number in it, underneath that dialogue box will be an orange "Share" button. Click that button, choose from any of the services provided, including sharing via Google, Facebook, StumbleUpon, email and a variety of others.

SmartPoints

  • What are SmartPoints for?

    SmartPoints are our way of rewarding your efforts on the HelloLife Network. These efforts support, not only your own health goals, but the health goals of all our members. Each SmartPoint is worth 1 US penny and SmartPoints are redeemable for money off items in the HelloLife Store. The option to use your SmartPoints will come after you have selected the item(s) of your choice during the checkout process.

  • How can I earn more SmartPoints?

    There are TONS of ways to earn SmartPoints! For a complete list, click HERE. HERE.

  • Can I share my SmartPoints?

    No. While we appreciate the thought, sharing SmartPoints is against our Terms of Use.

  • Can I get money for my SmartPoints?

    No. SmartPoints are not redeemable for money.

Support Groups

  • How can I find a Support Group?

    Choose the Support Groups option from the top of any page to be taken to the Support Groups landing page. Browse from the selection of Support Groups, using the filters at the top of the screen to isolate certain categories, when you have found a Support Group that you are interested in, simply click on it and be taken to that groups dedicated page.

  • I have a suggestion for a new group. Where can I send it?

    Click on the feedback button tab on the bottom right hand corner of any page. Fill out the little form with your suggestions and we will be sure to read it and consider incorporating your idea into the Network.

  • How do I join a Support Group?

    Using the same navigation mentioned above, get to the community or group of your choice and click on the blue button under the group picture labeled "Join This Support Group!" and you're in.

  • How do I leave a Support Group?

    Go the membership options section on the left side of the page and click the "x" located next to the label "Leave Support Group." Confirm your choice in the dialogue box and you are all set!

Questions

  • How do I post a question on the Network?

    To post a question on the Network, head to the Health Q&A section located in the main navigation bar at the top of any page. Once there, locate the "Ask a Question!" button towards the middle of the page on the right hand side and click it. Fill in all the required fields - title, body, category, and tags. Once done, give the question a once over to make sure that it is just the way you want it, when you are ready to submit the question, scroll down and hit the "Submit Your Topic!" button (there is a check box located just above the submit button that needs to be clicked if you would like to remain anonymous).

  • I posted a question, but I did not get SmartPoints for it. Why?

    There are two possible reasons why this may be: 1.) You have already earned a 100 SmartPoints from posting questions this month. OR 2.) Your question was less than 50 words in length.

  • I replied to a question, but I did not get SmartPoints for it. Why?

    In order to earn SmartPoints for your comments, they must be at least seven words in length.

  • How can I share a Health Q&A discussion with friends outside the Network?

    Refer to "How can I share my blog with people outside the HelloLife Network?" The process and location of sharing buttons is the same for Q&A.

Health Coaches

  • How do I ask the health coaches a question?

    To ask a question, first you will need to head to the Coach Center. Do this by clicking "Coaches" in the Network navigation bar. Once there, scroll down to the middle of the page, across from the title "Popular Coach Answers" there is an "Ask" button, click on it. You will be taken to the Q&A template, fill out all the necessary fields - title, body, category, tags, and choose to post anonymously if you would like. Once all the fields are filled, give the question a once over to make sure it is just the way you want it, if you are satisfied, click the "Submit Your Topic" button.
