How do You Cope with a Disease that Has No Cure?

By

Many people can become depressed during times that are difficult, such as being diagnosed with a disease that has no cure. When people find out that they are suffering from a disease with no cure, it can be a very testing time in their lives. Some people experience pain, depression, stress, and anxiety. People deal with these conditions in many different ways, some of these ways include:
  • Chinese Herbal Medicine
  • Acupuncture
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Psychotherapy
  • Medical Treatment

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicines have been shown in many studies to be very successful in helping people with stress and anxiety. Chinese herbal medicines are usually known to:
  • give calming effect
  • reduce anxiety
  • reduce abdominal cramping
Using Chinese herbal medicine is rather easy to do and is natural, which makes it a very healthy alternative. Chinese herbal medicine works by taking different types of herbs and mixing them together to meet the needs of each individual. Peppermint has been used to calm the muscles and give a soothing effect to the body. The flower Chamomile is also used in Chinese herbal medicine. Chamomile is most often used to help to alleviate pain.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is when a trained professional uses thin needles to stimulate acupuncture points in the body. Acupuncture often gets used with Chinese herbal medicines for the fullest effect. Many believe that getting acupuncture will help to balance out your bodys chi, and help you stay in a relaxed state of mind. Acupuncture has been known to help such symptoms as:
  • anxiety
  • insomnia
  • muscle cramping
  • constipation
  • diarrhea

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is used to help people relax and also helps people to be surrounded in a stress free environment. Usually hypnosis shows to not be very effective to people over the age of 50 because a person has to be willing to concentrate and focus on what the hypnotist is instructing them to do. Once a person is in the hypnotic state, it is believed that they are more willing to relax and listen to ways to make relaxation an important part of their everyday life. Hypnotherapy can be a great experience for people who are suffering from depression or anxiety.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is when a trained professional helps to find where a persons stress and anxiety is stemming from. For a person who has a disease with no cure it is important for them to talk to a trained professional to understand the way that they are feeling. Talking to a Psychotherapist will help the individual work through any kind of depression or stress they are feeling in their life during this time.

Medical Treatment

There may not be a cure to the disease that an individual is diagnosed with but there may be treatment that they can take that will help deal with the pain. Pain killers are often an option that people turn to. Cessation of pain will often help to alleviate stress and get rid of peoples depression.
