  Dr. Char,

  I am hoping you can help to point me in the right direction. 

  I have a friend who's dog is showing terrible signs of arthritis in his back legs and she is hoping to start him on a supplement to help, yet the data available seems to be complex and conflicting. Many seem to be harmful to the internal organs such as the kidney and liver.

  Have you heard of the supplements consequin or dasuquin? Would you recommend either or?

  Or have you heard of something else that might help.... this family is very open to any ideas!

  Cosequin along with MSM would be a great combination for a dog with arthritis. Other good options for arthritis include a homeopathic like Arthro-IonX, acupuncture, and chiropractic care.
