Bri Luginbill at HelloLifeIt's always hard when you lose someone close to you. My friend passed away this week and her visitation is tonight. I feel like when the death first happens, you go through a shock phase. I also tend to be a little quieter and more socially awkward than normal near the beginning. I almost feel bad for anyone who runs into me during this week because the conversation may fall a little short.
One thing I do to cope with the loss is to just randomly smile. Sounds silly, I know. But just smiling makes me feel a bit happier. And I try and smile at everyone I see too because their smile back really helps too! I also make sure not to keep any feelings inside. I seek comfort in family and friends and give comfort to them as well. A support group is the best during a time like this. How do you cope with the loss of a loved one?

Erin FroehlichOh wow! I'm so sorry to hear that, Bri!:(
How long did you know them? Were you very close? That is so hard.....
I've never had a friend die before, but I think it sounds like your doing all the things you should be doing. Just make sure you are allowing yourself time to mourn. Take time for yourself to cry. It's an important part of the grieving process.

Bri Luginbill at HelloLifeThanks Erin.
I haven't taken time yet to mourn, but I will make sure I do. I know it's not healthy if you just block it out.
I only knew her for a little over a year, so not terribly long. But it still hurts and it's not the same as losing a family member. And I feel like time is what it takes to fully recover. As overused as that phrase is, it's very true.
