Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a disorder that can cause you to have extreme Fatigue. This type of fatigue is not the kind of fatigue that comes from a long day or one that goes away after having some rest. Instead, it lasts for a long period of time, often longer than six months, and can alter your abilities to do everyday daily activities. Although CFS does not yet have a cure, research is starting to realize that there are many natural treatments that can help someone suffering from CFS to live a normal life. Below are some helpful suggestions to alleviate your Chronic Fatigue Syndrome symptoms.

Get some physical activity into your daily life

Everyone needs some daily activity in there life. It helps with all aspects of their life, physical, mental, and emotional. Chronic fatigue sufferers need it just as much as anyone else does. However, CFS sufferer needs to pace themselves, as over doing it can just cause the fatigue to become worse. It is also important that in doing this they avoid stress as well. It is going to be up to the sufferer to determine the amount of activity they are doing and what works best for them. In addition to the physical activity, massage therapy, acupuncture, and therapeutic touch may be helpful as well.

Have a support group

Having a support group, whether it is others going through the same thing, family members, friends, etc can be very helpful. There are many online discussion boards, or chat rooms designed for CFS sufferers to find education and support. Educating yourself and having as much knowledge on CFS is only going to help you manage this disease better. If you feel uncomfortable talking openly with strangers or close ones, maybe doing some regular counseling sessions is the right choice for you. They are trained to help you without knowing or judging you.

Keeping a healthy diet

CFS sufferers should try and go by a healthy diet. There are some things that may help with your CFS daily. Some of the things you should try and include are:

  • Water
  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Whole grains
  • Nuts
  • Fiber
  • Flaxseed oil
  • Complex Carbohydrates
  • Vitamins

In addition to those that you may want to include, there are also some you may want to avoid, as they may make your CFS worse. These include:

  • Smoking
  • Alcohol
  • Caffeine
  • Foods high in saturated fat
  • Milk
  • Refined carbohydrates
  • Sugars

Knowing what makes CFS worse

As set forth above, knowledge on CFS is only going to help you and others around you cope with it more easily. Knowing how much daily activity is right for you and what kind of diet is right for you are important to avoid CFS. Avoiding stress is also crucial as that has been shown to trigger CFS. Taking vitamins and taking steps to help you stay as healthy as possible. Illnesses can make your chronic fatigue flare.

Have a positive outlook

Lastly, and most important is to know there are many things CFS sufferers can do to live a life similar to anyone else. They just have to try and remember they have limitations and boundaries. Knowing all there is to know about CFS and taking steps to help make it better, is going to help you live a healthier and happier life.
