In fact, I think it's pretty cool. I don't think unskilled people should attempt to do this to their cats at home, but if someone idiot decided to go ahead and try it, I wouldn't blame this guy for their cruelty and stupidity.2/17

  I was with our local humane society for 25 years and had the pleasure of finding homes for "different" dogs and cats. If an animal is born with a deformity and is not in pain, it deserves to live. My heart goes out to the kitten and thank God for giving him to the right parents. I pray he leads a long, healthy life and gives them the pleasure they deserve.2/8

A kitty was recently born with 2 faces. It's...not as cute as you might think, but I hope the little guy does well! (Bonus: the owners named him Harvey Dent!)

  I read the above about cat hoarders.... if I had the space. (MANY acres of my own) I would have as many cats as I could afford to alter, feed and keep safe. I think hoarders are really people who just have SO much love to give... and cats really GIVE MORE LOVE than you can imagine if you've never lived with any. ....and.... when we see one suffering.... we MUST take care of it.... mother it.... It's is VERY rewarding. The sad thing is, that those who "hoard" start out just loving.... but they will take in more than they can care for... and then the trouble begins. I think everyone NEEDS 2 cats. tee hee

  Regardless which animal it is, I think there's a delicate balance between having too many pets to take care of and letting a pet go unadopted and risk euthanasia. If I could afford to take care of a pet, I would. Since I can't, I at least stop into PetSmart sometimes and buy a treat for one of my friends' pets, and donate a buck or two to their charity funds to help other animals.1/27

  Vera, everything you said makes so much sense. I agree wholeheartedly! Cats do give a lot of love. My old roommate/friend had a cat and that cat loved snuggling up to me while I watched a movie. I miss that cat so much! Also my friend's mom has over 10 cats and she takes care of all of them just fine and loves each and every one! I was able to take care of her cats for a weekend and it was so much fun. :)1/27

  ACTUALLY, that statistic is dead-on at my house - I have 6 cats and 2 are obese. It's funny, because I was talking with a few friends about this the other day. I think there is a different attitude when it comes of obesity in cats than there is for dogs. I actually know several people that say they are specifically interested in having a fat cat - they're adorable! My fat kitties snore and sit up like a human - a feat our lean cats can't pull off. They don't have a big chubby belly to help them balance that way. lol Maybe I shouldn't laugh it off or celebrate their round furry little physique, but it doesn't really seem to cause them any problems. They still go hiking through the woods with us, running right along with the rest of the pride!1/19
