HelloLife GuestWhat are steps I can take to control rheumatoid arthritis?
-

Dr. Jeff Chamberlain, MDIf you have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, then you should be seen by a physician who has been trained to treat rheumatoid arthritis. This is important because some people with rheumatoid arthritis require medications to control their disease and to keep it from progressing.
Exercise routines designed to improve strength and stamina have been shown to benefit people with rheumatoid arthritis, so if you have rheumatoid arthritis, I would recommend developing a low impact exercise routine that you do at least 30 min a day 5 days a week. To build stamina, it should be vigorous enough to raise your heart rate.
For some people, certain foods can cause rheumatoid arthritis to flair up. If there are certain foods that cause your symptoms to flair up, then you should avoid them.
Stay Healthy,
Dr. Jeff M.D.
