children with head lice

    my 8 yr old daughter was itching yesterday on her head alot. so i decided to check her head . i found nits as well as lice . i right away used a over the counter solution to get rid of them... this morning i checked her again, i didnt find any lice but did find about 8 , 9 nits. i pulled them from her hair, and didnt see anything else. in her hair . she wants to go swimming in our family pool. however im not sure if i should let her yet or not ; please help me in answering this question

    It sounds like you did a great job getting rid of your daughter's lice! It would be okay to let her go swimming. I would just make sure you recheck her head every night for the next 2 weeks, to make sure:

    1) You did not miss anything. 2) More Lice did not hatch. 3) She did not get re-exposted.

    It sounds like she only had a few nits, so pulling the hair works. If there are a lot of nits, I recommend a lice comb.
