Are allergies more common at certain ages?

Yes, IgE levels are greatest in childhood and drop dramatically between the ages of 10 and 30. Children are by far at the greatest risk for allergies.

We see the highest rates of food allergies in young children and allergic rhinitis (hay fever) is most common in people under 30. Unfortunately, there are some people whose allergy symptoms get even worse when they get older, but many people with allergies out grow it by their teens.
