Allergies-Let's Go Natural!

Today my friends I would like to discuss allergies and environmental illness and some natural ways to help stop the suffering without the worry about having an allergic reaction to a toxic chemical medication. I know personally that taking medications can have some dramatic reactions, even taking a natural herbal remedies for allergies can have a negative effect on some very sensitive individuals. Usually a herbal remedy will not cause a traumatic reaction as compared to a prescription or even a over the counter drug. Today, I am going to concern mainly on totally non-invasive natural remedies.

More people everyday are trying natural remedies over taking a medication. I find it very interesting and quite frankly bazaar that in many allergy medications have dyes in them. If you have allergies or sensitivities to food dyes which many people do, not to mention all the poisons in dyes that are known carcinogens and extremely toxic--Why would the drug companies put artificial coloring in them? A white pill or capsules will be sufficient and much safer.  No one needs to have the pill a pretty mint green or tinky pink color.

The natural remedies for allergies, that I we are going to discuss, also have other very positive effects on the body such as detoxification and helping eliminate pain and muscle spasms.

1. Massage:  Relaxing and soothing a good massage can give you many benefits. If your allergy symptoms cause sinus pressure and headaches, a thorough head massage can relief the throbbing pain in your head and neck.  A massage can help to open up the nasal passage and clear up some of the drainage plus it will release natural endorphins that are natural pain killers and will help you feel better. So you might just get more relief than you ever expected.

2. Yoga: There are several yoga practices that may help to alleviate allergy symptoms, including runny noses and inflamed sinuses. Some of the breathing exercises can be very helpful. It should be noted, however, that the isolated use of yoga exercises and techniques will probably not offer instant relief. You need to engage in a regular yoga routine to enable your body to benefit and enjoy a healthier immune system.

3. Steam Bath & Hydrotherapy: The healing properties of  water can have a cleansing effect on allergies. Steam treatments and hot baths can open the sinuses and provide relief from allergy symptoms. Taking a bath using essential oils can provide relief from allergies. Make sure the bath is slightly warmer than body temperature. Add 8 drops of peppermint oil while the water is still running. Submerge much of the body into the water for about 20 minutes. Add water to keep the bath temperature warm.  For a quick steam treatment, boil a pint of water with dried chamomile or yarrow, and inhale the steam until the water cools.

4. Acupuncture: Putting needles into you skin probably doesn't sound very appealing to you. But not to worry, from my own personal experience with acupuncture I can definitely verify that it does work and gives relief from sinus and allergy symptoms. Don't worry about the needles! They do not resembles a traditional needle, they are extremely thin and flexible and usually you don't even feel them. The benefits of acupuncture occurs because it clears energy blockages and helps you achieve a more balanced state, which enables your body to prevent the initial allergic reaction from occurring.

I hope some of the ideas can help get you on the road to finding some relief from allergies and sensitivities, while enabling you to have healthier body and immune system! A natural non-invasive remedy is always a better choice for the whole body and for staying healthy. You only have one body and you need to take care of it. If we start putting toxic drugs into our bodies we are opening a door to the possibility of causing permanent harmful damage to the natural course of how our body functions and fights disease. So lets make this the healthiest year yet and go natural and green!

I can't take baths as easily due to a medical condition, but I like tip #3, and frequently use Chamomile tea to help breathe easier and clear my sinuses a bit too. :)
